Security

This site and associated systems have security measures in place to protect your privacy, and prevent the unauthorised alteration of the information under our control.

Third Party Sites

myjobscotland.gov.uk uses 3rd party sites to gain additional exposure to the positions being advertised. Official partners may include s1jobs, Totaljobs, Guardian Jobs, TES Scotland, Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) – Find a Job, Skills Development Scotland – My World of Work.

In the majority of cases no one from a council/organisation will be in contact with a candidate until an application has been submitted, or unless a candidate has been in touch directly with the council/organisation if they have a query.

The vast majority of positions advertised on myjobscotland will ask a candidate to complete an online application via the council/organisation minisite and redirect the candidate to that minisite.

No partner or 3rd party organisation has access to candidate account information from myjobscotland unless a candidate has agreed to this as part of the application process.

myjobscotland will never ask you to provide bank or credit card details or request any form of payment via email.

If you are contacted about your application from an unknown organisation (one to whom you have not applied) and have any doubt about the legitimacy of any emails please contact us directly by emailing myjobscotland@cosla.gov.uk with as much information as possible so we can investigate.

Scraper Sites / Job Aggregators

Content scrapers are websites that take content from another website without specific permission. Some content scrapers use automated software that takes content from an RSS feed and posts content to their site so it appears as a new post e.g. a job advertisement. Job Aggregators collect job postings from employer websites, job boards, online classifieds, and association websites and display them on their own site.

Both these type of sites may list council/organisation positions that appear on myjobscotland but any organisation doing this should not deter you from accessing our jobs by making you register directly with them. If we are alerted to any site that does this we will ask them to remove our jobs until that practice is ceased.

To check if a position is still being advertised you should always refer back to the myjobscotland site and search for the position to get the most up-to-date information.

myjobscotland is unable to prevent scraper/aggregator sites from taking content, but these sites will not have any access to a candidate account on our secure database.

As the information is already in the public realm, myjobscotland is happy to provide datafeeds in line with Open Government Licence principles - http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/doc/open-government-licence/version/3/

myjobscotland uses some official third party sites to gain additional exposure to the positions being advertised (please refer to the Third Party Site section above).
