Third Sector Jobs
Adult social care services in Scotland are delivered by a range of organisations, including the Third Sector. All Third Sector organisations are charities, dedicated to the people we support, and with a reputation for creativity, flexibility and innovation.
Third Sector social care providers deliver specialist services that focus on working with people to meet their individual needs. The values that drive the Third Sector - equality, inclusion, fairness and compassion - also extend to our employment practices. Our workforce of 55,000 are skilled professionals who see this every day. We are committed to investing in them to undertake vocational qualifications.
Social care is personal and practical support for people to keep well, play a part in their community and thrive. It includes a wide range of support: care at home, day services, outreach, crisis support and care homes. Most social care support is delivered within an individual’s own home.
Social care is part of a wider support system for citizens that includes health, housing and welfare (benefits) and is individualised to each person’s ability, needs, preferences and the outcomes they want. Social care support is accessed by a wide range of people with diverse needs, including older people; children, young people and families; disabled people; autistic people; people with learning disabilities, mental health problems, dementia, sensory impairment, complex disabilities, acquired brain or spinal injury, epilepsy, or drug and alcohol problems; people with convictions; people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness; and survivors of domestic violence.
We have a wide range of jobs available in general and specialist services across Scotland.
